Introduction

Playgroundingis an ongoing artistic research project that has been developing since 2025, exploring how people establish relationships with their environment, others, and themselves through the practices of the body, play, improvisation, and site-based engagement. Taking the park as a temporary score, within it bodies, movement, and encounters continuously compose and decompose space. In this ever-shifting field, Playgrounding seeks to re-read and translate the collective memories embedded in public parks, and through practices in non-typical spaces- workshops, residencies, field observations, and collective actions-gradually waves playful sites belonging to different places and communities.
In the second half of 2026, Playgrounding will extend its practice to southern Taiwan. In October, the project will be in residency at South Jump Experimental Space in Kaohsiung, where it will engage with local performing arts communities across different contexts, including elementary schools and dance spaces.
